Chicago's Leury Garcia is day-to-day with a bruised elbow
Chicago White Sox center fielder Leury Garcia left Thursday's game against the Seattle Mariners with a bruised right elbow.
Garcia was removed from the game after taking a pitch off his elbow in the fifth inning on Thursday. We should know more about his status for Friday night soon, but for now it looks like Willy Garcia could start in center on Friday after coming in for Garcia on Thursday night.
Garcia is slashing .298/.347/.465 with a .350 wOBA over 126 plate appearances in 2017. Assuming he doesn't miss much time, our models project him to post a .245 average with six homers, 32 RBI's and eight stolen bases over 315 plate appearances remaining this season.
