A's giving Yonder Alonso (knee) a rest on Thursday
Oakland Athletics first baseman Yonder Alonso (knee) is getting the night off on Thursday versus the Boston Red Sox.
Alonso left Wednesday's game early after hurting his knee on a swing in the loss to the Seattle Mariners. The injury seems minor, but the A's are taking it easy with their first baseman, playing Ryon Healy in his place on Thursday.
Alonso is batting .271 with a .409 wOBA and a career-high 12 home runs in 137 plate appearances.
