Blue Jays suspend Kevin Pillar for two games
The Toronto Blue Jays have suspended outfielder Kevin Pillar two games for using a homophobic slur on Wednesday.
Pillar yelled the slur at Atlanta Braves pitcher Jason Motte following a strikeout in the seventh inning of the Braves' win. The outfielder took to Twitter to apologize for the incident but was still handed the two-game suspension by the club. He will not play on Thursday or Friday.
Pillar has been raking this season, slashing .305/.357/.497 in 183 plate appearances. He has six home runs, six stolen bases, and 27 runs scored.
