Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment over the weekend, per Mariners' GM Jerry Dipoto.
Haniger is expected to be ready to go by next Tuesday (May 23) when the Mariners kick off a three-game series in Washington. He landed on the disabled list with a Grade 2 oblique strain on April 26.
Haniger got off to a hot start this season, slashing .342/.447/.608 with a .448 wOBA through 95 plate appearances -- tallying 4 home runs, 16 RBI's and 20 runs scored.
