Josh Donaldson (calf) not returning for Blue Jays this weekend
Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson (calf) will not be rejoining the team this weekend.
Manager John Gibbons said on Monday that the team was hoping Donaldson could return for this weekend's series, but admitted Wednesday that he "jumped the gun" with his earlier proclamation. On the more positive side, he indicated that there has been no setback in Donaldson's rehab. The slugger could potentially return to action next week. He has not played in a game since April 14 due to a strained right calf.
Donaldson is projected for a .291 batting average, 18 home runs, and 60 RBI's in 401 plate appearances the rest of the season, by numberFire's algorithms.
