Giants activate Mark Melancon
The San Francisco Giants have activated closer Mark Melancon from the disabled list.
Melancon went through a full-intensity 22-pitch bullpen session on Monday, and he felt great, so he's back ahead of schedule and available for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Melancon has started the 2017 season with a 2.53 ERA, 2.59 SIERA, 22.7 percent strikeout rate, 2.3 percent walk rate and 1.31 WHIP through 11 games (10 2/3 innings pitched). He has six saves on the year.
