Giants' Mark Melancon (elbow) due back from DL on Friday
San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Mark Melancon (elbow) is expected to be activated from the disabled list on Friday.
Melancon threw a 22-pitch bullpen session on Monday and felt great afterward. He will likely make one more side session before getting the all clear to return to the pen. He will take the closing role back from Derek Law upon his return.
Melancon owns a 2.53 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 10 strikeouts and six saves in 10 2/3 innings pitched.
