Mariners place Robinson Cano (quad) on the 10-day disabled list

The Seattle Mariners placed second baseman Robinson Cano on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive May 13, with a strained right quad.

What It Means:

Cano initially hurt his quad on May 9 but was able to 4-for-5 the next night. However, the All-Star second baseman has missed the last five games with the injury as it has not healed as quickly as the Mariners would have liked. Cano is hopeful to return when first eligible, next week. Taylor Motter will fill in during his absence.

Motter is posting a .232/.309/.485 slash line with a.339 wOBA and five home runs in 110 plate appearances this season.
