Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Amir Garrett will return to the rotation and start on Thursday versus the Chicago Cubs.
Garrett was sent down to Triple-A Louisville after a May 6 start, to limit his innings workload. The 24-year-old rookie made a two-inning appearance in Triple-A on Friday, striking out all six batters he faced.
Garrett has tossed 36 innings this season with a 4.58 SIERA and an 18.9 percent strikeout rate.
