Cody Allen closes things out for Cleveland on Monday
Cleveland Indians reliever Cody Allen finished off the Tampa Bay Rays for an 8-7 win Monday as he picked up his 10th save of the season.
Allen surrendered a two-out solo blast in the top of the ninth to pinch-hitter Peter Bourjos, but he was able to hang on for the victory. The 28-year-old right-hander is now 10-for-10 on save chances this season.
Allen's 10 saves are tied for third in the majors. He owns a 1.72 ERA with a 41.2 strikeout percentage and 10.3 percent walk rate in 15 2/3 innings in 2017.
