Aroldis Chapman goes on Yankees' DL with sore shoulder
The New York Yankees placed reliever Aroldis Chapman on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 13, with left rotator cuff inflammation.
Chapman was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday with left rotator cuff inflammation and will be shut down for the next two weeks. An MRI came back negative, so the hope is that this won't be a long-term issue. The Yankees will obviously be careful with their $86 million investment, though. Dellin Betances will handle the closing duties for the Yankees while Chapman is out.
Chapman holds a 3.55 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, 36.8 percent strikeout rate, and 10.5 percent walk rate through 12 2/3 innings pitched in 2017.
