Hisashi Iwakuma expected to miss four-to-six weeks for Mariners
The Seattle Mariners announced Saturday that pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma (shoulder) is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with right shoulder inflammation.
While it's encouraging that the MRI didn't find any structural damage, that's still a month or two before they get the right-hander back. Christian Bergman filled in for him on Friday and could have a chance to stick in the M's rotation for awhile given all of their injuries.
Iwakuma owns a 4.35 ERA (6.29 FIP), 1.26 WHIP and low 12.5 strikeout percentage over 31 innings this season. He's 0-2 in six starts.
