Rays' Jake Odorizzi a tough luck loser on Thursday
Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi allowed one run and four hits in six innings on Thursday but was dealt a tough loss as the Rays were shutout 6-0 by the Kansas City Royals.
Odorizzi has now allowed two or fewer runs in his last five starts but only has two wins to show for it. The 27-year-old threw 114 pitches, walked two and struck out four for his third quality start of the season. Odorizzi will take the hill next in Cleveland on Tuesday.
Odorizzi owns a 2-2 record with a 2.61 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 31 innings pitched this season.
