Chicago Cubs pitcher Eddie Butler has been recalled from Triple-A Iowa.
Butler will start against the division rival St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night. He could see multiple turns in the Cubs' rotation depending on Brett Anderson's (back) health. The 26-year-old right-hander is a former top pitching prospect of the Colorado Rockies and could be worth a look as a streaming option.
Butler has spun an impressive 1.17 ERA at the Triple-A level this season, but that's alongside a concerning 5.08 xFIP and 1.11 WHIP. He's 1-0 across five starts and 30 2/3 innings.
