Brewers claim reliever Cesar Jimenez on waivers from Phillies
The Milwaukee Brewers have claimed left-handed reliever Cesar Jimenez off of waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies, according to Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors.
What It Means:
The Phillies had designated Jimenez for assignment last night. The Brewers announced that his assignment within the organization was to be determined.
Jimenez, 30, didn't fit with the Phillies' given their recent gravitation toward youth. He has spent a majority of the season at Triple-A, where he had a 3.61 ERA and 3.62 FIP in 57 1/3 innings. In 84 2/3 career Major League innings, Jimenez has a 4.86 xFIP.
