Chicago Cubs infielder Jeimer Candelario is starting at first base and batting cleanup against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday afternoon.
Candelario also hit out of the four-hole on Tuesday in his first major league appearance of the season, where he went 1-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and one run scored. The 23-year-old tore it up in Triple-A Iowa and Cubs manager Joe Maddon wants to see how his production translates to the big league level.
Candelario slashed .340/.443/.649 with a .467 wOBA across 115 plate appearances in Triple-A Iowa while hitting four home runs and 22 RBI's.
