Miami Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich was ejected from Tuesday's game in the first inning for arguing balls and strikes.
Yelich said something to the home plate umpire after taking a called third strike in his first at-bat. Manager Don Mattingly was also given the boot after he came out to defend his player. Ichiro Suzuki replaced Yelich in the field and the lineup.
Yelich is batting .276 with a .311 wOBA and 16.8 percent strikeout rate in 137 plate appearances.
