White Sox not close to promoting Yoan Moncada to the big leagues
Chicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn hinted Tuesday that top prospect Yoan Moncada is not close to being promoted to the major league level.
The general manager said the big league club needs to see more proof that Moncada can handle the majors before they decide to call him up. It appears the White Sox are gaming the service time system a bit as the 21-year-old is scorching Triple-A but will likely stay in the minors until late-June so the team can gain another year of control over the infielder.
Moncada is batting .345/.419/.549 with six home runs and eight stolen bases in 129 plate appearances for Triple-A Charlotte.
