David Price (elbow) inching closer to a return for Boston
Boston Red Sox starting pitcher David Price (elbow) cleared another hurdle in his rehabilitation as he threw a four-inning simulated game on Tuesday afternoon.
Price said he felt good afterward and he'll now wait to see what the Red Sox decide to do in the next step of his throwing program. He will either throw another simulated game this weekend or be sent down for a minor league assignment, likely early next week. Price is still on track to return to the rotation by late-May.
Price posted a 2.72 SIERA while striking out 24.0 percent of the batters he faced in 230 innings pitched for Boston in 2016.
