Mets' Yoenis Cespedes (hamstring) close to baseball activity

New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (hamstring) should resume baseball activities in the next few days, manager Terry Collins said.

What It Means:

Late last week, it was reported by FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman that Cespedes making it back before the end of May "may be a long shot." Collins appears to have a more optimistic outlook, saying Cespedes is roughly two weeks away from returning.

Cespedes got off to a hot start before his injury, slashing .270/.373/.619 with a .413 wOBA through 75 plate appearances. That's on pace to set career highs in on-base percentage, slugging percentage and wOBA. He also has six dingers and 10 RBI's.
