Tigers' J.D. Martinez (foot) on track for Friday debut
Detroit Tigers outfielder J.D. Martinez (foot) is on track to be activated from the disabled list Friday.
Martinez was hitless in his first game for Triple-A Toledo on Monday, but he did turn in a full nine innings in the field. In three combined games for Toledo and High-A Lakeland this season, the 29-year-old outfielder has gone 3-for-11 (.273) with a double, one home run and two RBI's. He's yet to play in the majors in 2017 due to a sprained Lisfranc ligament in his right foot.
numberFire's models project Martinez to have a .289 batting average with 18 home runs and 64 RBI's in 470 plate appearances this season.
