Miami's Wei-Yin Chen (elbow) won't start this week
Miami Marlins starting pitcher Wei-Yin Chen (elbow) won't be ready to rejoin the rotation later this week as hoped.
Chen has been dealing with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament since last summer but recently has been experiencing arm fatigue, particularly in his elbow. While an MRI revealed no new damage, the pitcher is still in discomfort and won't be activated from the disabled list on Friday as planned. There is no timetable for his return. Jose Urena will stay in the rotation as long as needed.
Urena allowed just one hit and zero runs while walking one and striking out two over six innings in his first start of the year on Sunday.
