Rockies having Ian Desmond take a seat versus the Cubs
Colorado Rockies first baseman/outfielder Ian Desmond is getting the night off on Monday versus the Chicago Cubs.
What It Means:
Desmond has played in all seven Rockies' games since he was activated from the disabled list on April 30 and is getting a breather on Monday. Mark Reynolds is playing first base while Gerardo Parra is manning left field versus Jake Arrieta and the Cubs.
Desmond has gone 8-for-31 (.258) with two home runs and three RBI's in 31 plate appearances so far this season.
