Michael Brantley (ankle) not in Indians' lineup on Monday

Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley (ankle) is not in Monday's lineup versus the Toronto Blue Jays.

What It Means:

Brantley hurt his ankle on Sunday and is considered day-to-day. Manager Terry Francona sounded upbeat about the sprain, believing the outfielder would miss just a game or two with the injury. Yandy Diaz is batting seventh and manning left field on Monday.

Brantley is hitting .283/.343/.475 with five home runs and three stolen bases in 108 plate appearances.
