Trea Turner out of the lineup Monday for Washington
Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner is not in Monday's lineup against the Baltimore Orioles.
The Nationals are giving Turner a breather after the youngster went 0-for-13 with five strikeouts over the weekend. Wilmer Difo is starting at shortstop and hitting at the top of the order against right-hander Kevin Gausman and the Orioles.
Turner has seen his batting average fall to .270 (24-for-89) this year, down from .342 last season. His 25.3 strikeout percentage has also spiked from last year's 18.2 percent clip. He has two home runs and 13 RBI's while stealing six bases.
