Rays' Kevin Kiermaier (hand) makes an early exit Friday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermeir made an early exit Friday after being hit on the hand by a pitch.
Kiermeir was able to run the bases after being drilled by a Francisco Liriano pitch in the fourth inning but couldn't convince the Rays' training staff to let him stay in the game. Colby Rasmus replaced him in the lineup with Peter Bourjos shifting from left to center. Expect more details to come out after the game on the extent of the injury.
Kiermeir is batting .204 with a .260 wOBA, one home run, six RBI's, five stolen bases, and 14 runs scored in 129 plate appearances this season.
