Cardinals send Stephen Piscotty (hamstring) to disabled list

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Stephen Piscotty has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain.

What It Means:

Tommy Pham has been called up and will likely make some starts in St. Louis' outfield, especially with Dexter Fowler scheduled for an MRI on his shoulder. Jose Martinez also projects for some work in right field. Piscotty's hamstring strain isn't believed to be of major concern.

Piscotty is batting .241/.378/.380 with two home runs and 11 RBI's in 98 plate appearances this season. The Cardinals are currently tied for 17th in numberFire's MLB Team Power Rankings.
