Royals remove Ian Kennedy from start due to hamstring strain
Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Ian Kennedy was removed from Thursday's start with a hamstring strain.
Kennedy was having a rough game as he allowed five runs (four earned) before leaving with a trainer in the fifth inning. No word yet on how serious the injury is but consider it likely the right-hander will miss a start and probably is headed to the disabled list. The 32-year-old right-hander finished with five runs allowed on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk across 4 1/3 innings.
On the season, Kennedy is now twirling a 3.03 ERA and 21.8 strikeout percentage over 35 2/3 innings.
