Delino DeShields claims the Rangers' everday left fielder job

Texas Rangers manager Jeff Banister told reporters that outfielder Delino DeShields has claimed the starting left field job.

What It Means:

All of the left field options -- DeShields, Ryan Rua, and Jurickson Profar -- have struggled, but DeShields is the hottest of the trio. He is batting .357 in his last five games, making for an intriguing fantasy pickup due to his speed, but don't expect consistent production from the 24-year-old. DeShield is in left and batting leadoff on Tuesday.

DeShields is hitting .257/.366/.286 with seven runs scored and five stolen bases in 42 plate appearances so far.
