Rays defeat Marlins in Jake Odorizzi's return to the mound

Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi held the Miami Marlins to two runs over five innings Monday in his return from the disabled list.

What It Means:

Odorizzi wound up with a no-decision, but the Rays were the victors by a 4-2 score. The 27-year-old right-hander gave up only two hits and walked one while fanning five. It was his first start since April 15 and he'll look to turn in another strong showing at home against the Toronto Blue Jays in his next start.

Prior to landing on the disabled list, Odorizzi spun a 4.15 ERA and 15.4 strikeout percentage with a career-best 1.00 WHIP across 13 innings (three starts).
