New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Sunday that he expected catcher Gary Sanchez (biceps) to be on the active roster at this time next week.
Sanchez is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with the Triple-A Scranton/Wilks-Barre Railriders on Tuesday and if all goes well there, the Yankees big hitter should be back with the big league team later in the week. It will be yet another young big stick in the Baby Bombers lineup once he returns.
Our models project Sanchez to post a .264 batting average with 24 homers and 70 RBI's over 488 plate appearances remaining this season.
