Mets sending Lucas Duda (elbow) out for a rehab assignment
New York Mets first baseman Lucas Duda (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment on Friday.
Duda is currently on the 10-day disabled list but is eligible for activation on Sunday. There is a chance he plays Friday and Saturday in the minors, and if all goes well, Duda could be back with the big league club on Sunday. With Yoenis Cespedes going on the disabled list, the Mets could use Duda's powerful bat back in the lineup.
Duda was batting .238/.360/.571 with four home runs and seven RBI's in 50 plate appearances before hurting his elbow.
