Jose Abreu (hip/groin) not in Friday's lineup for White Sox
Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu (hip/groin) is not in the lineup Friday versus the Detroit Tigers.
Abreu left Wednesday's game early with a groin strain/hip flexor injury, but thought after a day off on Thursday he would be good to go for Friday. Obviously, it is not the case. Consider the first baseman day-to-day with the injuries. Matt Davidson is filling in at first and batting sixth.
Abreu is batting .253 with a .629 OPS and zero home runs through 81 plate appearance so far this season.
