New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka scored his first shutout of the season on Thursday as the Yanks beat the Boston Red Sox 3-0.

What It Means:

Tanaka allowed only three hits, striking out three and allowing no walks while picking up his third consecutive win and improving to 3-1 on the season.

Tanaka has kicked off the 2017 season with a 4.20 ERA, 4.16 SIERA, 17.3 percent strikeout rate, 7.9 percent walk rate and 1.27 WHIP in 30 innings.
