Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez is not in the lineup against the Washington Nationals on Thursday afternoon.
It just looks like a day of rest for Gonzalez. Pat Valaika will move into the starting lineup, batting seventh and manning left field.
It has been a quiet start to the season for Gonzalez, hitting for a .211/.271/.342 slash with a .268 wOBA through 85 plate appearances. His 31.7 percent hard-hit rate is on pace to be his lowest since 2011.
