Atlanta Braves second baseman Brandon Phillips left Wednesday's game against the New York Mets with a strained left groin.
Phillips was replaced by Jace Peterson to open the bottom half of the second inning. This sort of injury typically requires a stint on the disabled list.
Phillips has been fantastic so far this year, slashing .352/.387/.507 with two home runs, nine RBI's and five stolen bases across 75 plate appearances (19 games).
