Giants place Denard Span (shoulder) on disabled list
San Francisco Giants outfielder Denard Span is now on the 10-day disabled list with a sprained right shoulder.
Span has been sidelined since Saturday. He should be able to return once he's eligible. Until then, Gorkys Hernandez is likely to fill the void in center field for the Giants.
Span is slashing .200/.245/.280 with a .233 wOBA across 53 plate appearances this year. It would be the first time he ever had a wOBA below .300 for a season.
