White Sox say Jose Abreu is day-to-day with hip flexor strain
Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu has been diagnosed with a mild right hip flexor strain.
Abreu injured himself while trying to field a ground ball during Wednesday's matinée with the Kansas City Royals. The White Sox are calling him day-to-day as of now, but it's possible that the 30-year-old first baseman requires a stint on the 10-day disabled list. Todd Frazier moved from third base to first on Wednesday while Tyler Saladino filled in at the hot corner.
Abreu has got off to a rough start this season with a .233/.291/.274 slash and .256 wOBA -- both of which are on pace for career worsts.
