Dodgers' Cody Bellinger starting in left, hitting eighth in big league debut
The Los Angeles Dodgers purchased the contract of outfielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Bellinger will start in left field and hit eighth in his MLB debut Tuesday night against southpaw Ty Blach and the San Francisco Giants. With Rob Segedin (toe), Franklin Gutierrez (hamstring) and Joc Pederson (groin) all currently sidelined, the 21-year-old carries immediate fantasy value in deeper mixed leagues after tearing it up in the minors.
Bellinger was hitting .343/.429/.627 with 5 home runs, 15 RBI's, 15 runs scored and 7 stolen bases in 77 plate appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City this year.
