Dodgers calling up top outfield prospect Cody Bellinger
Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports that the Los Angeles Dodgers are calling up top outfield prospect Cody Bellinger.
What It Means:
Bellinger will replace injured Joc Pederson in the outfield and provide depth while Franklin Gutierrez and Rob Segedin nurse injuries. The 21-year-old was tearing the cover off the ball in Triple-A this year, but expectations should be tempered as he makes the transition to the big leagues.
Bellinger was hitting .343/.429/.627 with 5 home runs, 15 RBI's, 15 runs scored and 7 stolen bases in 77 plate appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City this year.
