The San Fransisco Giants are calling up infield prospect Christian Arroyo, reports Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area News Group.
The Giants are 6-13 and need a spark. They hope by calling up their 2013 first-round pick in Arroyo, the 21-year-old could do just that. They plan to play him at third base while moving Eduardo Nunez into left field. Arroyo has hit for a high average but doesn't have much pop or speed, making him a questionable fantasy league add.
Arroyo is hitting .446/.478/.692 with 3 home runs, 12 RBI's, 14 runs scored and 2 stolen bases in 69 plate appearances with Triple-A Sacramento this season.
