Nelson Cruz explodes in Mariners' demolition of Oakland
Seattle Mariners outfielder Nelson Cruz went 2-for-4 with a three-run blast, five RBI's and two runs scored in Sunday's 11-1 win over the Oakland Athletics.
The three-run rocket was Cruz's first tater since April 17 and the five runs driven in were as many as his previous nine games combined. His .200 ISO for the season remains well below what we've come to expect from the 36-year-old veteran, but perhaps Sunday's performance will be the start of a power surge.
Cruz is slashing .271/.384/.471 with a .369 wOBA across 86 plate appearances in 2017 while adding three home runs and 14 RBI's.
