Ivan Nova dominates his former club as Pirates down the Yankees
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Ivan Nova was dominant in a victory over his former club on Sunday, allowing just one run on four hits over seven innings in a 2-1 win over the New York Yankees.
Nova's only mistake was a solo shot to Jacoby Ellsbury in the seventh. He struck out a season-high seven batters while walking only one as he earned his second win of the season. Nova will look to continue his hot start as he faces the Miami Marlins in his next outing.
Nova is 2-2 with a 2.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 15 punch outs in 27 innings pitched over four starts.
