Mariners promote first base prospect Dan Vogelbach
The Seattle Mariners recalled first baseman Daniel Vogelbach from Triple-A Tacoma.
Vogelbach is immediately being thrown into the fire as he is starting on Sunday and batting fifth. The Mariners offense has struggled to start the season, and the big bat of Vogelbach could help spark the offense as the free-swinging lefty will likely be in the lineup against most right-handers. Danny Valencia projects to start against lefties.
Vogelbach was batting .309/.409/.473 with two home runs, 14 RBI's and six runs scored in 66 plate appearances in Triple-A this year.
