Tigers' Miguel Cabrera (groin) lands on disabled list
The Detroit Tigers placed first baseman Miguel Cabrera on the 10-day disabled list with a right groin strain.
Cabrera hurt his groin in Friday's game and while he has no timetable to return, hopefully it won't take much longer than the 10 days. John Hicks was recalled from Triple-A Toledo and he will take Cabrera's place on the active roster for now. Alex Avila also has a chance to see some time at first base while Cabrera is out.
Cabrera is slashing .268/.369/.464 with three homers and nine RBI's over 65 plate appearances this season.
