Bryce Harper hits seventh homer as Nationals top Mets
Washington Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, two runs scored, and a walk in a winning effort against the New York Mets 4-3 in 11 innings on Friday.
Harper got the Nationals on the board with a two-run blast off starter Matt Harvey in the first inning. He later scored the go-ahead run in the 11th inning after reaching on a double. Harper is back in MVP form.
Harper has been on a tear to begin the year, slashing .407/.521/.864 with seven homers and 20 RBI in 64 plate appearances. Our models project him for a .273 batting average in 571 more plate appearances, with 26 home runs, 80 runs, 79 RBI's, and 14 stolen bases.
