Dyland Bundy fires seven shutout innings in Orioles victory

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Dylan Bundy earned his third win of the season on Friday, scattering six hits over seven shutout innings against the Boston Red Sox.

What It Means:

Bundy struck out three while issuing only one free pass on the night. He has been extremely impressive through his first four starts in 2017. He squares off against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday in Baltimore; a bad opposing lineup and a pitchers' park makes Bundy must-start during this dominant stretch.

Bundy has compiled a stellar 1.37 ERA and 0.99 WHIP through 26 1/3 innings so far this year. His 20.4 percent strikeout rate, 4.1 percent walk rate, and 3.62 SIERA are strong indicators that this is closer to legitimate than not. That said, our models project the young O's starter to post a 4.68 ERA, 21.6 percent strikeout rate, and 9.7 percent walk rate in 115 1/3 more innings pitched this year.
