Royals send Raul Mondesi to Triple-A
Kansas City Royals infielder Raul Mondesi has been optioned to Triple-A Omaha.
What It Means:
Mondesi's success in the spring hasn't carried over into the regular season, as he's gone just 4-for-39 with his bat so far this year. Hopefully some time in Omaha will help the 21-year-old infielder get over his struggles. Whit Merrifield and Christian Colon will fill the void at second base for the Royals.
Mondesi has recorded a .103/.167/.179 slash with one home run, two RBI's and five stolen bases in 46 plate appearances (14 games) this season.
