Chris Sale fans 13 in dominant showing for the Red Sox

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale struck out 13 over eight scoreless innings in a no-decision Thursday against the Toronto Blue Jays.

What It Means:

Sale cruised through eight innings, allowing just four hits and one walk but was pulled after throwing 102 pitches for closer Craig Kimbrel in the ninth inning. Kimbrel promptly served up a homer to tie the game nad leave Sale with just one win for the year. His next outing will come versus the New York Yankees.

Sale has been brilliant through four starts, racking up 42 strikeouts with a 0.91 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and a .147 opponent's batting average in 29 2/3 innings pitched.
