Nationals going closer-by-committee with Shawn Kelley, Koda Glover
Washington Nationals relievers Shawn Kelley and Koda Glover will split closing duties moving forward, manager Dusty Baker said Wednesday.
Neither Kelley nor Glover has been too great early on in 2017, but the former has been pitching well in recent outings and figures to have the better fantasy outlook, at least in the short-term. Kelley is currently on a four-inning scoreless streak and has given up only one hit in that span.
Kelley has twirled a 6.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 34.6 strikeout percentage across 6 innings this season while splitting his two save opportunities. Glover blew his only save opportunity and has recorded a 3.18 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 17.4 strikeout percentage over 5 2/3 frames.
